The existing communications management application had evolved into a feature-rich but complex system, making critical tasks difficult to navigate and increasing the cognitive load on users / risk of error.Problem
Additionally the product was transitioning from a physical product to a digital touchscreen interface, which posed challenges when it came to inconsistent lighting, hand positioning, gloved hands, and an unsteady aircraft environment.The redesign transformed a communication management app into a more intuitive, task-focused experience by simplifying navigation, streamlining workflows, and prioritizing the system status info.Solution
Brainstormed and performed creative research opportunities using localized security techniques for CUI data to validate design hypothesizes for real-world aircraft environments.A situational awareness focused, modern interface that reduced cognitive load and helped users complete critical tasks with greater speed and confidence.Result
